I hurt my back.

I'm not even sure how.

May. 23rd, 2011

Yesterday I walked with my friend for about 3.2 miles in a little over an hour. We could've logged in more distance during that time, but we were kind of dinking around and checking out what is still flooded (answer: a lot).

For my weight, I burned about 450 calories doing that. I could feel it in my thighs. She said her muscles were pulsing.

She wants to go for 5 miles tonight.

I hope she doesn't burn me out!

Graduated. :)

Quiz time~

The rules:

1. People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question.

2. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
I'd love to tag eight people, but my friend's list is small :P

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up:
1) My bed, 2) TV, 3) tote full of sock yarn, 4) a cat, 5) humidifier

2. How do you style your hair?
If fresh out of the shower and not going any where, I let it airdry. If fresh out of the shower and going somewhere, I clip it up... don't even bother brushing it. Unclip it once I get home and the damn thing is still wet! If dry, I run a brush through it and usually wear it down or clipped up. Nothing fancy.

3. What are you wearing now?
A huge oversized t-shirt and lounge pants. It it sleepy time.

4. What's your occupation?
Mostly student :)

5. What do you hear right now?
Cat meowing like he's dying and all he's doing is staring at me.

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
Ummmm.... Sometime last week and I think it was a stranger.

7. What is/was for dinner?
Leftover 3 cheese and jalapeno nachos

8. What did you do today?
Woke up at 3am, got dressed, attempted to shovel my car out of the 2 feet of snow that fell naturally and the other 2 feet of snow that was plowed up against it. Called it quits and arranged for a taxi to take me to work. Did my whole work thing which helps me realize that I am completely fed up with winter.

A lovely co-worker gave me a ride home, a lovely neighbor lent me 2 different kinds of shovels since mine wasn't cutting it and then helped me dig myself out after watching me for about 20 minutes. He then helped me push my car out.

Went to a local business to get my windshield replaced and someone gave me a ride home since the person I was counting on was sick at home. Then when he dropped me off, he said to call back once my car was done and someone would come pick me up. He wanted to save me the cab fare!

Then I promptly went to sleep after picking up my car. My day to day life is pretty busy, but pretty boring now.

9. Dog person or cat person?
I enjoy both, but I prefer cats more because they aren't always demanding attention.

10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
I like my name. My mother was going to name me Alonya so it makes me wonder if I would have the same personality as I do now.

11. What was the last thing that you bought?
A soda?

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Definitely overseas. Scotland or maybe Japan. A friend is trying to convince me to go to S. Korea.

13. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Working, probably still in school (though a different one and for a different degree), hopefully with some 2nd language knowledge.

14. Where's your birthmark?
I have a fleshtone mole at the edge of my eyebrow.

15. What are you doing this weekend?
Sleeping? :(

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I know a little piano, so I would like to learn more about that. Ooh or guitar.

17. What's one thing you wish you could tell someone right now?
I wish I could have all your resources and not be spoiled like you.

18. What is/was your favorite thing about today?
Strangers helped me without me asking for help :)

19. Someone gives you $10,000 but you can only give it away. What do you do with it?
I would use it towards making Plattsburgh more pedestrian friendly. I'd walk a lot of places if I could, but there is a lack of sidewalks in certain areas and they don't keep them clean (landowner's responsibility, pft) so people end up walking in the actual road during snowy weather. Unsafe.

I gave myself frostbite on my right hand (my main hand) the first flight Friday morning.

It hurts :(

Taking applications.

I need a sugar daddy. Or a sugar momma.

Please provide references.

Why do crime and/or medical dramas show you really explicit gore?

It really bums me out.

Starting a toe-up sock adventure without a pattern. It'll be a plain vanilla (stockinette) sock. I've almost finished with the toe and once I get past the last bit of increases I'll be zooming along.

I haven't decided on a heel yet, perhaps eye of partridge since it is so pretty.

It'll be pink with bits of purple shades :3 First time knitting with Essential though and I see that it likes to pool... I've started to enjoy pink a bit more, but really I love lots of bright colored socks. They're all hidden under my pant legs, but I know!

I'll take pictures once I get closer to the heel. ...I kind of have to shave my legs 'cuz I don't bother with that during the winter.

I really need to start paying attention to the things I cook.

I made a really cool dish using spaghetti noodles and frozen peas. I also used minced garlic, onion, red pepper flakes, and soy sauce. I tossed peas into the pot I was boiling the noodles in just before the al dente stage. Then it was all transferred into a frying pan.

I think I used too many red pepper flakes.

Next time I might add some meat or maybe try tofu for once.

Dear Plastic Bag,

Don't worry, you're going to be made into a large tote for recycle-ables.

Cutting plastic bags into loops for plarn, and I run across that particular loop... This wasn't planned at all, so it was a nice surprise.
